A family of doctors
Carlos grew up around medicine. His father was a surgical oncologist — and his first mentor. Watching him care for patients, Carlos learned early that looking after someone means their well-being both medically and financially. His father never turned a patient away over money, and once a year he joined international surgical charity missions, operating on as many people as he could. That example shaped how Carlos works today.
Three decades in cross-border care
In 2001, Carlos joined Grupo Ángeles — the largest private hospital network in Mexico — and built its international-patient division, growing it into one of the most successful medical-tourism programs in the country, receiving hundreds of patients a month. Over more than three decades in cross-border healthcare, he has built the relationships with surgeons and hospital leadership that let AngelesHealth respond within hours and schedule surgery within days.
That is the difference behind AngelesHealth: not a directory of hundreds of doctors in dozens of cities, but a focused network of vetted surgeons and hospitals in Tijuana, coordinated by someone who is with you the entire way.
A philosophy of empathy and transparency
Traveling to another country for surgery isn’t easy, and Carlos treats it that way. His approach is to be empathetic to whatever a patient needs, to keep communication clear, and to put everything in writing so there are no surprises — what’s included, what isn’t, and exactly what to expect. Above all, that the reason you came — your medical issue — gets resolved successfully.
“In Mexico, I wasn’t treated like a case or a number — I was treated like a person with real needs.”— a recent AngelesHealth patient
