Our Face Lift Surgery can be performed under local or intravenous anesthesia and it’s usually three hours. The incisions are made in the following areas:
- Temples above the hairline.
- Behind the ear lobe.
- Base of the scalp.
- If the neck is included, another one is under the chin.
The next step is to separate the skin from the fat and muscle, using two techniques: trimming or suction. The muscles are then tightened and the skin is pulled back, then surgeons proceed to remove the excess skin. Then then secure the incisions by stiches and add metal clips to help secure the scalp.
Drainage tubes will be installed under the skin behind the ear to drain any blood that has collected and bandages are loosely wrapped around the head to control bruising and swelling.
