Trusted in Mexico
- Our Story
Twenty years ago, medical tourism in Mexico was fragmented — limited options, no continuity of care, and patients largely on their own. AngelesHealth emerged to change that, building the country's first end-to-end medical tourism network.
01
2006 · Founded
AngelesHealth is founded with a single mission — connect international patients with Mexico's best hospitals, surgeons, and amenities under one coordinated network. The first patients are U.S. and Canadian, traveling for orthopedic, general surgery, endometriosis, and cosmetic surgery.
02
2010 · First international accreditation
One of the hospitals in our network earns Joint Commission International accreditation — the same standard applied to top U.S. academic medical centers. Not all of our partner hospitals hold JCI accreditation, so we match you to the right facility for your procedure.
03
2014 · Surgical talent expansion
Top-tier plastic, orthopedic, and oncology specialists — internationally trained physicians and surgeons — join the network. The full-scale Specialty Centers of Excellence are formalized.
04
2019 · U.S.-based case management
U.S.-based bilingual case managers become every patient's single point of contact — from inquiry, through travel, through 90-day follow-up — coordinating directly with local primary care.
05
Today · A trusted network
Today, AngelesHealth coordinates care through leading partner hospitals, recovery hotels, and a U.S.-based team — serving patients across cosmetic, orthopedic, oncology, and cardiac care. The company is led by a founder with 35 years of experience in medical travel.
06
Today · Looking forward
We continue to expand specialties, build out infrastructure, andraise the standard of care for international patients. The mission hasn't changed — accessible, exceptional healthcare that transcends geographical boundaries.
-Why Patients Travel to Mexico
Five reasons U.S. and Canadian patients cross the border for care.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of North American patients travel to Mexico for medical care. The reasons are practical, clinical, and personal.
01
Cost-effective, transparent pricing
Mexico offers high-quality healthcare at 40–70% below U.S. prices. Quotes are all-inclusive — covering surgery, hospital stay, anesthesia, medications, ground transport, and recovery lodging — with no hidden facility or pharmacy fees.
02
Internationally accredited quality
One of our partner hospitals holds JCI accreditation; partners also carry ISO 9001 and AAAHC. Care is delivered by internationally trained physicians and surgeons.
03
Geographic accessibility
Tijuana sits 12 minutes from the San Diego border. No long-haul travel, simple visa requirements, and short ground transport make Mexico the most accessible international destination for U.S. and Canadian patients.
04
Specialty centers of excellence
Plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, oncology, and cardiology — each runs as a dedicated specialty center with its own physician panel, OR resources, and rehabilitation pathway.
05
Whole-patient, holistic care
Our network integrates traditional and modern medicine: nutrition, rehabilitation, mental health, and pain management are part of every surgical pathway — not after thoughts.
