Face Lift Surgery
Sun exposure, fluctuations in weight, genetics, exposure to toxins
(smoking and pollutants), and many other factors will ultimately show
themselves on our faces. Facial skin may loosen, wrinkles and furrows may
develop, and the muscles in our neck and jowl area may weaken. A Face Lift
can often address these effects, firming and tightening the skin of the face
and neck. It is one of the five most popular plastic surgery procedures in
the United States.
During a Face Lift, the surgeon makes an incision above the hairline. The
facial skin is then separated from the underlying tissue and excess fat and
skin are removed. The facial muscles are then tightened, improving the
contours and appearance of the face. The skin is then reattached using
stitches or staples. The overall result is usually a noticeable reduction of
sagging and age lines in the face. Patients come away with a refreshed,
younger-looking, and more vibrant appearance.
At Hospital Angeles Tijuana, cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Miguel Parra, performs
the standard full Face Lift as well as a Mini Face Lift that will focus
either on the lower face, or the upper face with temporal region. Either
Mini Lift can be done with or without the eye area. The full Face Lift
includes brows, eyes, neck, liposuction and cementoplasty (tying of the
muscles under the chin so that you don’t have the dropped jowl). Incisions
are made in front of the ear and can go around the back of the ear if
needed.
