Breast Lifts come in two basic varieties: the “concentric” lift, which involves fewer incisions and focuses on the areolas, and the “anchor” lift, which focuses on the skin in the lower half of the breast. Generally speaking, Breast Lift surgery, regardless of the actual technique used by the surgeon, involves removing excess skin around the areola, and sometimes from the lower half of the breast. The skin of the breast is then shifted in a way that tightens it. Breast implants may be included as part of the operation to increase breast volume and improve projection, and to provide more smoothness to the skin. Through this process, the nipple placement and areola is enhanced and elevated, giving a more youthful looking profile.
